I know it’s Thankful Thursday, but tomorrow I’m 36 weeks…ummm where did the time go? I’m still kind of trying to wrap my head around the fact that we’ll have a newborn in the house in three weeks {possibly earlier than that if Baby McBailey decides to make a grand entrance}. September is a hard month for us. Casey, our German Shepherd passed away one month our wedding on September 15, 2011. Then, last year, my grandmother passed away on September 14, 2102. We of course can’t forget September 11, which still baffles me when I think back and reflect on the tragic events of that day. So, should Baby McBailey happen to make a grand entrance that might make September a tad easier for us {and my mother and family}.

This week I’ve been in full-out organization mode. I’m trying to figure out how to incorporate bottles and formula into kitchen organization, how to better leverage the space in our linen closet to ensure there is room for baby wash cloths and towels, and how to share a small bathroom with a baby. So there has been a ton of purging, purchasing of baskets and organization, and reworking of our current organization {or lack there of in some cases…like that dagon linen closet}.

Onto the business at hand, Thankful Thursday. This week I’m thankful for the company which employs me. Oh I know what you are saying “But Megan, most days you curse that place!” I know, I do, I do. But I curse the commute, the bureaucracy, and my work load. Not the company. Let’s be real everyone, if I didn’t work for such a supportive and generous company, I wouldn’t have been able to spend this time on bed rest ensuring Baby McBailey arrives in this world safely and in good health. It truly is a blessing.

So yes, there are days that I can only shake my head at some of the happenings of my paycheck place. But looking back over these past few weeks, and the weeks ahead of me, I have realized that not leaving a few years ago was a really good decision. While my commute may have been easier, I don’t know that I would have had the flexibility I’ve been provided. I know that going back is going to be so difficult, but it’s the least I can do for all that they have done for me.

So there you have it, this Thankful Thursday I’m thankful for the paycheck place. Another weird one for the books right?

What about you? What are you thankful for this Thursday?
