{Thankful Thursdays: Last Thursday of August 2012}

“Gratitude is the best attitude.” – Author Unknown

Can you believe it? The last Thursday of August 2012. Labor Day weekend is slowly creeping up on us. I thought the quote I found today was perfect for that which I knew I was going to post about today. With Labor Day weekend starting in less than 24 hours for me, we have a jam-packed weekend planned. I hope the remnants of hurricane Issac don’t spoil our grand plans. But if they do, I’m just GRATEFUL that we’ve been spared thus far in the Atlantic Hurricane season from being in the direct path of any terrible storms.

Now I know, I live in the NorthEast and we aren’t truly in the direct path, but we’ve had our fair share of “oh crap” moments when it comes to hurricanes and being grateful to be spared is not such a bad thing right? I read something today that said that living a life of gratitude could significantly reduce stress. I have no idea if that’s scientifically proven and I’m not making any claims that it is, BUT it sounds about right doesn’t it? If we live a life of gratitude and are continually grateful for that which we have, instead of harping on what we don’t have, we’re almost certain to be in a better mood. Which will in turn make you less stressed, right? So I most certainly think it makes sense. And ps, I’m also THANKFUL that if we were to get lots of rain (and all of our plans were ruined) that I have my husband to snuggle with and my awesome neighbors to help us make the most of it. Geeze I’m throwing out all sorts of thanks and gratitude today, aren’t I?

What are you thankful/grateful for this last Thursday of August 2012? Any big Labor Day plans?

  1. Great post, Megan. Very true. I totally agree that being grateful for what we do have can certainly lead to a better mood and attitude! I am thankful to have you and Andrew as our friends – we need to get together soon 🙂

I'd Love to Hear From You!
