So how much of a slacker have I been? One week, no posts, shame on me. My mom was up visiting this past weekend (which, was a blast by the way. I wish my mom lived next door. I truly do. I ‘m a weirdo, I know that!) so I didn’t get any time this weekend to put anything together. And then Andrew’s been out-of-town for work (he’s in Vegas, don’t feel bad for him) all week so I’ve been hanging out with the neighbors. Man, I know I’ve said it before, but we are so lucky to have such an awesome little neighborhood!
So anyhoooo, here I am. Of course I can’t miss a Thankful Thursday! Ohhh and tonight’s the VP debate on the telly. It’s like they knew today was Thankful Thursday and that’s why they decided to have their debate – crazy right? *I’m actually rolling my eyes at my ridiculousness right now*
Oh and let’s not forget that today is 10-11-12…HOW COOL IS THAT?!?!? Okay, focus Megan…
Today I’m thankful for my in-laws. No seriously, I am! How many people do you know who say that? Well this girl is. When my grandmother passed away in September, my mother-in-law dropped everything to help us out. She came over and did laundry, bought me mums for the front porch, flowers, cleaned up, took care of the cats, and then made sure we had dinner the first night we came home. She even offered to pick my sister up from the airport, if her flight to the 757 was cancelled, and drive her to the 757 at 5 in the morning. She even went as far as to call my mother and speak to her for over 30 minutes about the whole situation. She followed that up with flowers. Everything she did was just so kind-hearted and selfless. My father-in-law called my from China one hour after it happened just to check on me. He sent texts, and the day he got back, came over again just to check on us, to check on me. He called my mother this weekend just to chat because he knows how lonely she’s been. So this Thankful Thursday I am so very thankful and grateful for my awesome in-laws. They treat me like a daughter, not like an in-law, they love us unconditionally, and they want nothing more than to spend time with us. Its pretty amazing honestly. I not only have the best parents a gal could ask for, but I lucked out with the best in-laws as well. Thanks Mom2 & Dad2, you guys rock!
So what are you thankful for this chilly DC Thursday?
